(a) Whoever is convicted of wilful false swearing or affirming in taking any oath or affirmation prescribed by or upon any examination provided for in this title is guilty of perjury. (b) Whoever wilfully or corruptly instigates, advises, induces or procures any person to swear or affirm falsely, or attempts or offers so to do, is guilty of subornation of perjury, and shall suffer the punishment directed by law in cases of perjury.
